The Regular Supervisors Meeting will be held at its normal day and time of Tuesday, June 12, at 5:30PM. The meeting is held at the Upper Tyrone Township Municipal Building.
So, Fayette County Commissioner Al Ambrosini spoke towards the end of the meeting, giving our supervisors some advice on the IPMC. He spoke quietly… you’ll probably need to turn your speakers up to hear him.
The May Township Supervisors Meeting will be held at 5:30 PM on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Township Municipal Building. The change is due to the PSATS Hershey Conference.
Please support the Township Supervisors’ efforts to convince PennDot to open the McClure Rd / 119 intersection back up to four-way traffic and get rid of the triangular divider. Mr Edwards will be going to a PennDot outreach meeting to attempt to work with them. Call 724-887-4359 to see how you can support the Supervisors’ effort. This has gained importance since, as was discussed in the meeting on April 10, the bridge that 119 crosses over Jacob’s creek and the bridge that 819 crosses over 119 will both be under construction through 2013.
The Upper Tyrone Supervisors are still intent on adopting the 2012 IPMC. It was on the agenda at the April meeting as “Unfinished Business.” It would appear that the desire of the residents to be free of such an intrusive code will be ignored by the Supervisors. Continue reading
The next Upper Tyrone Township Supervisors’ meeting is being held at 5:30PM, Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Upper Tyrone Township Municipal Building.
It is important that residents of Upper Tyrone Township attend the meetings to stay informed on what is happening in our township.
This evening, the supervisors had the opportunity to meet about 100 of their constituents. The supervisors discovered that the majority of these residents want simply to be left alone.
A few residents think that it is the government’s job to guarantee us happiness and keep us safe. They seem willing to give away their freedom for this empty promise. They seem to be very willing to take away the freedom of others, too.
The supervisors chose to abolish the proposed ordinance that would have adopted the 2012 International Property Maintenance Code.
If we in Upper Tyrone want an ordinance, the ordinance needs to be based on the fundamental rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and the right to own private property. The ordinance must be clear that the only activities that are prohibited are those that harm another person’s life, take away another person’s liberty, or damage their private property.
The ordinance cannot guarantee that a person will be happy, that a person will be free from having to see “nuisances”. We do not have the right to be free from discomfort.
Here is the video footage of the entire meeting.
First the Nuisance Ordinance (tabled indefinitely, thanks to residents like you who took action).
Now the International Property Maintenance Code.
Next will be Zoning.
We must watch the Supervisors–watch them very closely.
And attend the meetings.
We must help them to mind their own business and stay out of ours.
