In 1995, the supervisors adapted the BOCA codes, including a property maintenance code.  These have never been enforced.  They didn’t even know that these codes were on the books until quite recently.  We’ve managed to survive for 17 years without them “protecting” us.

Last year, the Supervisors tried to pass a Nuisance Ordinance.  They failed, thanks to many Upper Tyrone residents attending the meeting.

Now the Supervisors are trying again.

This Maintenance Code is similar to the Nuisance Ordinance that we defeated last year–only much worse, because you can end up in jail or lose your house.
