International Property Maintenance Code

An article in the Daily Courier states on April 19th states:

“Last month supervisors passed a motion to abolish the ordinance that would put into place the 2012 IPMC. This month, supervisors discussed passing the ordinance.”

You were ignored!  The taxpaying, voting citizens were ignored.  And you were lied to.

At the April Supervisors’ meeting, Bill Edwards (chairman of the board of supervisors), put this back on the agenda as “Unfinished Business”.  And you all thought that this was done and over with!  It would seem that Bill Edwards will stop at nothing to get this code in place.

But everyone else has it!  No, really, Mr. Edwards said this!  … but not everyone else has it.  For instance, most of Ohio has no code like this in place.  “The majority of Ohio’s municipalities don’t have maintenance codes, said Kent Scarrett, communications director for the Ohio Municipal League.”  (Read it here.)  But then, Ohio actually cares about people’s private property rights.

Hysteria

Tom Curry (Connellsville code enforcement officer) talked about getting past the hysteria that he saw at the March Supervisors meeting.  Are we a bunch of hysterical morons?  No!  We have read what is in the code.  And we don’t want it!

UN Agenda 21

This Code is part of UN Agenda 21.  The goal of UN Agenda 21 is basically to establish control over all human activity.  And they are bringing this in at the local level, where people pay little attention.  Once the government controls your private property, they control you.  Watch the video and read more here.

Action Alert!

You and I must tell the supervisors again that we do not want this code.

Their next meeting is Monday, May 14 at 5:30 pm (this months meeting is not on the usual day).  Remember, This code applies to any structure–house, garage, barn, shed, fence, even your dog house!

What is wrong with this?

The International Property Maintenance Code will rob people of their property rights.  Then  your private property becomes semi-public property–the supervisors will tell you how you are allowed to use your own property…

The Ordinance and Code are:

Costly:  Do you have money for a citation?  Can you afford to give up eating for a month?  Can you afford to lose your home?  Or go to jail?

Unfair:  Those with the least money are hit the hardest.  They can lose their homes at Sheriff’s Sale.  Then who buys them?  Someone wealthy.  We don’t need to steal from those with the least money to give to the rich.

Invasive:  The Code enforcement officer can enter your home without a warrant.  If you refuse to let him in, he goes and gets the authorities (cops).

Arbitrary:  This code can easily be subjectively and arbitrarily enforced.  In the future, it could end up being used against political opponents.

UnChristian: The wealthy and powerful will use this tangled web of rules and laws to oppress us, just as the Pharisees did in Jesus’ day.  We don’t need to be ruled like that by the Pharisees Supervisors.

UnAmerican: What has happened to freedom in America?  What has happened to the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?  The happiness of the Upper Tyrone Supervisors is apparently much more important than your happiness.

Come to the meeting and tell the supervisors Two things:

  1. No Property Maintenance Code
  2. Just Leave the Taxpayers Alone

They will be using our tax dollars to oppress us.  Just say NO!
