The Supervisors can send YOU to jail!!

Last year, the Supervisors tried to pass a Nuisance Ordinance.  They failed, thanks to many Upper Tyrone residents attending the meeting.  Now the Supervisors are trying again.

Like Santa Claus, the Upper Tyrone Code Enforcement Officer will be coming to your house.  But he won’t be sliding down the chimney bringing gifts.  No, he’ll be bringing a tape measure and a citation book.  He will enter your home without a warrant, uninvited.  He will make sure your house meets stringent standards.  If it doesn’t, he will issue you a citation (just like a traffic ticket) and order you to correct the terrible offenses.

Can’t pay the fine and all legal fees (including Upper Tyrone’s)?

You’ll go to JAIL!

And maybe lose your house, too.

They will use your tax dollars to pay the Code enforcement officer.

Welcome to the 2012 International Property Maintenance Code that the township supervisors want to adopt (more than 40 pages of it) via a four page ordinance that they think they will vote for on March 13.
